Whether your fantasy football team is hanging by a thread or you’re well-positioned for a playoff spot, the Week 13 waiver wire is critical to your success. Not only does notable player injuries continue to mount, but there are two more byes to come, including Week 14, which will see six teams (Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleansand Washington) have the week off. Some of the pickups we suggested last week were included Samaje Perinekyren williams, Treylon Burks, and Elijah Moore. They helped fantasy players in week 12.
Here’s a look at some wire-waiver options for week 13:
quarterbacks
Trevor LawrenceJacksonville Jaguars
In his last three games, Lawrence completed 76.9% of his passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns, with some help in running play (12 attempts, 80 yards). That jaguars playing four of their next five games away, but they have two potentially cheap starts (Week 13 at Lions and Week 17 at Texans). Next week, fantasy teams will look to Kyler Murray for a one-week replacement, making Lawrence a viable waiver wire in short roster formats.
mike whiteNew York Jets
Starting with Mike White and Joe Flacco in the four games that nozzles‘Passing offense had a competitive pulse (309 yards and one touchdown, 307 yards and four points, 285 yards and 315 yards and three touchdowns). Zack Wilson went 5-2, but he completed only 55.6% of his passes, for 1,279 yards and four touchdowns in seven games. As a matter of fact, White has 24.8 fantasy points Scored more in Week 12 than Wilson has scored in a single game all year. If White retains the starting job, his Week 15 through Week 17 schedule (Lions, Jaguars and Seahawks) looks intriguing for a fantasy team struggling to win at quarterback.
Running backs
Ty Johnson, Zonovan Knightt, New York Jets
Michael Carter left Week 12 with an ankle injury, opening the door for Knight and Johnson for 69 and 62 yards. Johnson found the end zone, but Knight led the team with 17 total touches resulting in 103 yards. James Robinson should step in next week to replace Carter, making this backfield difficult to predict. Based on Opportunity Share, Knight and Johnson are worth adding as “waiting” players.
JaMycal HastyJacksonville Jaguars
Hasty led the team in Carries (12) and played well in the passing game (five catches, 67 yards, one touchdown) to relief Travis Etienne, who left in Week 11 with a foot injury. Hasty continues to be at the forefront of the Jaguars back-ups, at least until Darrell Henderson gets their offense up to speed. Etienne watched the game from the sidelines, suggesting his injury was minor. At the moment, Hasty is a short-term injury cover.
wide receiver
Sky MooreKansas City chiefs
Kadarius Toney’s injury has given Moore a surge in chances in the last two games (six catches for 63 yards and five catches for 36 yards) with 12 combined goals. His draft second-round pedigree in 2022 points up once Moore has built Patrick Mahomes’ confidence. That bosses I’ve been using him close to the line of scrimmage lately, but in college he was gaining 14.5 yards per catch. Moore is a buy-and-hold for now.
Jamesson WilliamsDetroit Lions
After missing the first 12 weeks of his recovery from a cruciate ligament rupture, Williams appears on the cusp of returning to the game for the first time lions. Last season in Alabama, he hit 79 of his 118 goals for 1,572 yards and 15 points. His big-play ability (19.6 yards per catch in college) should play well in the offensive structure for Detroit, but Williams plans to be big-play dependent early in his career. There’s a good chance he’ll play the Jaguars next week, but Williams would be a challenging start until he sees his role and opportunity.
David bellCleveland Browns
DeShaun Watson is expected to celebrate his controversial return from lockdown on sexual misconduct charges in Week 13. Watson hasn’t played since 2021 so it remains to be seen whether the Browns’ passing game will improve with him under center. Bell has just 20 catches for 169 yards in his first 10 games in the NFL but walked away with four grabs in Week 11. 21 goals in 29 games). Bell is worth stocking up on in deep formats.
We’ll have more free agents to pick up the waiver in our full report Tuesday morning.
