Youtuber Warped Perception builds the very first wireless Tesla

American Youtuber Warped Perception has posted a video in which he builds the first wireless device Tesla and does an 1,800-mile road trip without charging that Car. The video explains the creator’s dissatisfaction with the time it takes to charge from an electric vehicleand features a complete rebuild of a Model S Tesla and the adaptation of a power plant generator that burns gasoline to charge the car instead of using the traditional plug-in charger.

Loading the Tesla Model S with a Gasoline Powered Generator

The project grew the youtuber Desire to go on a non-stop road trip with his Tesla. Under normal conditions this would not be possible as the driver would have to stop frequently to charge the electric vehicle. Warped Perception took matters into their own hands, modifying the rear of the Model S to charge a gas-powered generator so it could be charged or stopped while driving, and attempted to drive while charging.

The video first shows the testing of the engine and its adaptation to the Tesla model. Apart from the fact that the car makes quite a loud noise from the outside, it looks like any other Model S. As expected, the endeavor encountered some obstacles and difficulties. The first thing noticed was excessive fuel consumption. The spoiler that caused the problem was removed, but then there was the problem of gas leaking into the rear of the car when the driving speed exceeded a certain level. Also, when it was noticed that the battery was draining faster than the charging speed, the Youtuber decided to drive at a much lower speed than usual, which resulted in being pulled over by a police car. After explaining the situation to the authorities, the US-based author continued his journey, making interesting stops along the way to rest and make the video more engaging.

During his stays, the Youtuber left the generator running overnight to charge the car. However, he was careful not to park the car near the accommodation so that the noise of the generator would not interfere. Although he continued to drive and fill up at a gas station along the way, the remaining battery level at the destination often fell below 10%, making the whole endeavor a balancing act.

Warped Perception made it home after seven days of driving without getting stuck, but he admits he was unhappy because he couldn’t generate enough power while driving and had to keep stopping and charging along the way. “To get that straight, I had to stop for about five to six hours a day while the car recharged itself because it’s using more energy than it’s producing while driving.” he explains. He closes the video by saying he intends to make improvements and review it again.
