QUANTUMANIA Director Teases Kang As Bigger Threat Than Thanos — GeekTyrant

In the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuntumaniaKang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) tells Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), “You’re out of your league, Ant-Man.” Kang is the new big villain in the MCU and this will lead to the big Marvel event movie. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

This isn’t the first hardcore villain Ant-Man has faced when he helped take on Thanos, but according to director Peyton Reed, Kang is an even bigger threat than Thanos in the MCU, which is crazy to think about Mad Titan Wielded the Infinity Gauntlet and snatched away half of all life in the universe.

It will be interesting to see who they take to the extreme with this new villain. Speaking about the film and Kang, Reed said during an appearance at CCXP 2022 in Brazil:

“We’re starting Phase 5 in a big, big way. This is the greatest adventure Ant-Man and Wasp have ever experienced. We go to strange places and encounter an antagonist unlike anything they are. ever seen – and that includes Thanos.”

Kang’s multiversal variant, He Who Remains, the creator of the Time Variance Authority, a timekeeper and master planner, warned of a multiversal war that threatened the annihilation of countless universes throughout the multiverse. Reed further explained:

“I think He Who Remains in Loki is very different from Kang the Conqueror in our movie. They are variants, but they are extremely different people. Kang is someone who controls time, but he conserves his energy. He’s a very, very scary character to deal with, eh [Ant-Man and Wasp] experienced firsthand.”

Marvel Studios President and Producer Kevin Feige spoke further about the Ant-Man franchise:

“Ant-Man finished phase 2. And now, [Ant-Man is] Launching phase 5 in such a massive way, much like Scott Lang himself is used by this petty criminal to save the world in Endgame. I love that the Ant-Man franchise is now at the peak of the MCU and entering Phase 5.”

In the movie “Superhero partners Scott Lang (Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lili) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Along with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (MichaelDouglas) and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) the family will explore the quantum realm, interact with strange new creatures and embark on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Kathryn Newton will also take on the role of Cassie Lang, and Bill Murray is in the movie! Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits the big screen on February 17, 2023.
