Kylie Jenner denies Kim Kardashian was distracted by the Balenciaga scandal

Kylie Jenner has responded to claims she was calculatingly trying to distract her fans from a scandal involving her sister Kim Kardashian.

The renowned brand faced backlash after its recent campaign promoting the Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which featured two young children posing with teddy bears dressed in BDSM-style harnesses.

Additionally, people later discovered court documents that mentioned “child pornography” in the background of the images. As a result, tons of outraged users accused Balenciaga of sexualizing children and called the shoot a “cancellable offense.”

Balenciaga issued two brief statements the following day apologizing for the photoshoot and court documents, before later releasing a lengthy note about her child molestation conviction. The company wrote: “We condemn child abuse in the strongest possible terms; It was never our intention to include it in our narrative. The two separate advertising campaigns in question reflect a series of serious errors for which Balenciaga takes responsibility.”

Kim, who is one of Balenciaga’s biggest faces, remained silent for a week before addressing the scandal with a written statement shared on social media, in which she revealed she herself had spoken to the brand’s team, before speaking publicly.

“I’ve been calm for the past few days, not because I wasn’t disgusted and outraged by Balenciaga’s recent campaigns, but because I wanted the opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” he said Kim wrote.

“As a mother of four, I was shocked by the disturbing images. Child safety must be given the highest priority and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period,” she said.

Kim then revealed that she appreciated Balenciaga’s apology and is now “reevaluating” her relationship with the brand. Many were disappointed with this response as it did not commit to cutting ties with the company.

“I appreciate Balenciaga’s campaign removal and apologies. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary actions to ensure this never happens again,” she wrote.

“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently reassessing my relationship with the brand and basing it on their willingness to take responsibility for something that should never have happened – and the actions I expect them to take to protect children,” concluded you.

Kim was slammed and mocked on social media for her response, as several Twitter users questioned why she decided not to end her relationship with the brand immediately.

The most disturbing thing about this Balenciaga thing is that Kim Kardashian is one of the richest women in the world, she could easily sever ties with them and take a big position, but she won’t. She’s a whole mom?!

When Kim’s sister Kylie decided to upload some rare photos of her son just as all of this was exploding online, some people couldn’t help but question the timing of it.

Kylie gave birth to the baby boy in February but has yet to reveal his name or share pictures of his face – which is very different from how she has flaunted her first daughter Stormi on social media since birth.

Several users were quick to speculate that Kylie had calculated to choose to share the pictures – all of which still hid his face – to distract social media users from the Balenciaga scandal and Kim’s divisive statement.

A viral TikTok video posted by user @psychadvice shared a video that broken down the Balenciaga controversy and her connection to Kim.

In response, one user commented, “I think we’re finally going to find out Kylie’s son’s name,” to which the TikToker quipped, “Kris Jenner tells her kids to post the good photos after the Balenciaga scandal.”

The TikToker then showed a spate of recent photos of the Kardashian/Jenners, including those of Kylie and her son, and Kim’s surprise meeting up with Khloé’s ex Tristan Thompson – all of which fans have dismissed as suspiciously timed given the controversy.

And as the video gained a lot of traction online, more and more users became convinced that Kylie had posted the little boy’s photos on purpose to draw some attention away from Kim.

But soon Kylie herself joined the conversation to hit back at the claims, insisting the pictures weren’t a “cover-up”.

Commenting directly on the TikTok video, Kylie wrote, “Uh why would I post my kid to cover up Balenciaga? that’s why i don’t do it. always something to say.”

Some fans sided with Kylie when they suggested the mogul “owes no one anything.”

“So Kylie Jenner is now being held accountable for Balenciaga and not Balenciaga? Strange,” read one tweet.

However, others have argued that Kylie and her sisters, who have chosen to remain silent about such major scandals involving their family members, are upset because they have “the power and influence” to spur change.

“Lol it doesn’t mean holding them accountable for things they didn’t do. It’s the lack of outrage/voice when they have a platform,” one person said.

“The Kardashians have the power and influence to make change happen,” reiterated another.
