Jodie Sweetin posts about Candace Cameron Bure

If you somehow missed it, Candace came under fire earlier this month after apparently saying her projects with faith-based network Great American Family would not involve same-sex couples.

“I think Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at its core,” she told the Wall Street Journal.

Jodie also appeared to be choosing a side of the drama as she left this below JoJo’s post criticizing the guy Full house Star:

And last night she reposted a longer message from Holly Robinson Peete, explaining in detail why Candace’s comments were so hurtful and damaging.

“There was a time when the words ‘tradition’ and ‘traditional’ were used to denigrate others…” the post began, “and to justify discriminatory laws…as if it were ‘traditional’ for people to marry interracially .”

“It wasn’t ‘traditional’ for us to drink from fountains that white people drink from or go to school with them,” the Post continued. “It wasn’t considered traditional for my parents and grandparents to vote. Many people died and sacrificed themselves for these fundamental rights in order to actually have access to these traditions.”

“So when we hear the words ‘traditional’ marriage to describe just one type of marriage, it belittles the love and commitment that many legally married people have for one another,” the statement continued, “and it unties many of us from time we remember how the word “tradition” was veiled in Christianity and we were basically told that God didn’t want equality for all. Pretty sure God wants us in safe, loving, loyal and committed marriages and relationships are happy…”

Since the backlash began, Candace has only spoken out to suggest that the media has twisted its words to the Journal. Writing in an Instagram post that she loves “fiercely and indiscriminately,” she said she expressed in her interview that “people of all ethnicities and identities both before and after the network have contributed in great ways to the network.” and will continue to contribute camera.”

As for Jodie’s posts, Candace hasn’t addressed her publicly, but we’ll let you know when she does!
