He’s struggling to start the 2023 season though, finishing 18th at Daytona and then dropping 16 laps and finishing 29th at Fontana last week.
Larson has finished 18th or worse in five of his last eight Cup starts, while Chastain is riding a streak of six consecutive top-10 finishes through Sunday, with five top-four finishes in his last seven races. Chastain was exceptional on 1.5 mile ovals last season, amassing five top 3 finishes. That includes two top-three finishes in Las Vegas, where he led 83 laps en route to third in the spring and 68 laps en route to second in the fall.
Chastain comes off a third-place finish where he led 91 laps at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana last week and also led six laps en route to a ninth-place finish at Daytona.
